GOOD UNI PRESIDENT SEARCH FIRM NEWS

8-11-16

Greeting Iowa Board of Regents and all—

Since the post below was released, the Board of Regents selected AGB Search to lead the search for UNI's new president.   According to the table below, it was a bad choice.  And likely because the regents prefer performance improvement oriented candidates, only 3 other firms responded to the request for bids.  They are:   Academic Search, Greenwood & Associates, Inc,  &  RPA Inc.

Good ol' boy Parker Executive Search, that did the previous UNI president search, did not apply.   But there is more good news.

While AGB was ranked low as a stand-alone search firm in the table below, it teams exceptionally well with the search committee members of the Board of Regents!!  In fact, it raises the table's  % EFFECTIVENESS  SCORE  FOR  FINDING BEST UNI PRESIDENT,  to 95%

And, AGB's $85,000 fee is below the $90,000 the board paid Parker for its help finding UNI president Ruud in 2012.

The Board of Regents has broken the good ol' boy boundaries for selecting status quo university presidents!

Stay tuned to hear howls of protests from UNI's poorest performers when AGB Search names performance improvement oriented candidates for consideration, just as happened at UI when performance improvement oriented Bruce Harreld was hired by the regents.

Sincerely,

Iowalvie    A growing number of volunteer citizens and professionals for improving Iowa

UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT SEARCH FIRMS EVALUATED & RANKED

7-14-16

Greeting Iowa Board of Regents and all—

The purpose of this post is to find the best president for the University of Iowa who will improve average university integrity and operating efficiency scores from-to the following numbers, within 5 years, respectively, as *derived by Iowalive networkers.

Improve UNI Integrity—From 210 to 300

Improve UNI Operating Efficiency—From 39% to 46%

All search firms Iowalive found and evaluated are so trapped in the good old  boy network they are loath to offend the network by searching and “finding” a candidate who is outside the box.  As a result, candidates from outside the box will not submit their names to the good old boy search firms.  And the Regents are looking for someone outside the box, as they demonstrated by wisely hiring Bruce Harreld at UI.
