C. R. GAZETTE BOWS TO 25 MISGUIDED UI STUDENT ACTIVISTS
Greetings, UI President Mr. Harreld and all—
Gazette reporter Vanessa Miller wrote 790 words on page 2 in the 11-12-15 Gazette in a futile attempt to give traction to about 25 dopey, misguided UI student activists desperately trying, and failing, to create a stink over President Harreld’s hiring.
The students want a meeting with Harreld, but won’t state their concerns and won’t provide an agenda—so he wisely sees no reason to hold a meeting. Vanessa ignores this evidence and writes a meaningless propaganda story in defiance of this equation.
No stated student activist concerns + no stated student activist meeting agenda + no student activist meeting = NO story!
The Gazette has also propagandized the attempts of a few recalcitrant UI profs desperately trying, and failing, to raise a stink over President Harreld’s hiring.
As a result, the Gazette remains an obstacle to progress at UI, stubbornly ignoring valid student concerns about job offers, amounts of the offers, tuition, housing costs and student loans. It's time for some house cleaning at the Gazette!
IS THIS HEAVEN? NO! IT’S IOWA!!
