PERFORMANCE BENCHMARKS FOR UI UNDER PRESIDENT HARRELD'S LEADERSHIP

11-9-15  Updated  Best National University Level Table 3-20-17

3 Colleges improved, 3 fell below 11-1-15 Benchmarks.  President Harreld's  Performance Grade is C.

Greetings, UI President Mr. Harreld and all—

Jennifer Hemmingsen, please forward this post to David Hamilton, in response to his column in today’s 11-9-15 Gazette.  Thank you very much.

You recently set national university performance levels as UI performance objectives that you would fight for.  Great!!   In the absence of numbers showing what you believe those levels are, below is a table of existing performance levels for UI colleges and academic units, prepared by Iowalive citizens and professionals, using advanced research and evaluation processes and database.   The table was previously sent to you for comment with the understanding if you didn’t comment, and you apparently saw no need to, Iowalive would release the table as is herein.

The table shows the benchmark level at which previous UI presidents managed the organizations, compared to the BEST national university levels, which you accepted as objectives, to your great credit!!   It shows at a glance the profs in the poorest performing organizations are the ones complaining loudest about your hiring.

It also strongly suggests the recalcitrant organizations in red should be closed—as it is very hard to justify having those organizations in 3 public universities in Iowa.  UNI and ISU should have, or could easily acquire, infrastructure and improved efficiency to accommodate the Iowa students enrolled in those organizations.  Please ask UNI and ISU for their plans to accommodate such an influx of Iowa students.  To do this is in Iowans’ best interests.

Out-of-state students in the organizations should be able to find accommodations elsewhere.

The table has columns for tracking future scores, which Iowalive will post as scheduled.  Please fill in the  blanks with your expectations, once they have been derived. Iowalive will likely chart expectations as well.   In addition, you will be notified if any interim scores are not improving.

THE CARVER COLLEGE OF MEDICINE SHOWS WHAT A GOOD PERFORMING UI ORGANIZATION LOOKS LIKE

It should be the first at UI to reach 100% of the Best National University Level

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is hopeless and should be the first to be closed

It would cost at least $2.5 million to have academic performance measurement specialists prepare this table.

Anyone claiming to have better numbers is asked to provide them

THERE ARE FAR TOO MANY RED NUMBERS IN THE TABLE

THE POOREST PERFORMING ORGANIZATIONS IN RED, AND THEIR ILK, ARE LOUDEST COMPLAINERS OF HARRELD'S HIRING, AS UI PRESIDENT.  THE MEDIA CANNOT GRASP & THUS IGNORES THIS FACT.   Source:  Iowalive 10-22-15

Integrity Index Score Derivation Methods are Posted on Website: http://www.iowalive.net/integrityderivation.htm

Correlation Coefficient for Integrity Index Score and Operating Efficiency is a Strong, Positive .96.  High Integrity People Despise Waste and Consider it Equivalent to Theft.

*Average on a scale of 0 to 1,000 tops, where significant integrity starts at 300, evil is at 250 and below.  Grand larceny scores 40.

It would cost at least $750,000 to have performance measurement specialists prepare this table for UI.

Anyone claiming to have better numbers is asked to provide them.
