RECORD IA CORN AND NEAR RECORD SOYBEAN CROPS IN 2017

6-12-17

Greetings, Senator Waylon Brown,  Representative Lee Hein and all--

You are among the first to receive the following map and table of Iowalive’s 2017 corn and soybean crop estimates.  Unfortunately, prices will average about 2% less than 2016 so state revenues will likely be about 1% lower.  The weather is expected to be suitable for harvesting the crops in a timely manner.  Please advise if anyone claims to have better numbers.

And where  can we find or obtain the total, actual, Iowa corn and soybean yields for the past 5 years?

The weighted state average in the table, compensates for the large variation in the size of the quadrants.
