LEGISLATIVE SESSIONS CAUSED STEADY DECLINE IN IOWAN'S STANDARD OF LIVING

The following chart shows a net 24% decline in Iowan’s standard of living, resulting from 200 to 2011 legislative sessions—despite the 3% improvement resulting from the 2011 session—for which legislators and the Governor are commended.

Unfortunately, at that rate of improvement, it will take 8 years to undo the damage caused by the previous 10 legislative sessions.

Increased spending and lack of accountability and improvement expectations, resulted in the declines.

It is recognized Iowans will not immediately feel the results of the 3% improvement—but they will eventually, especially if the improvement continues—and grows.

It is lamented the media does not care about analyzing and reporting legislation impacts on standard of living data to Iowans.  It is more apt to laud damaging tax and school spending increases—that are making it miserable for Iowans.
