DES MOINES REGISTER HIDING RESULTS OF ITS NO NAME 4-3-18 FORUM

4-9-18

Greetings,  Register’s No Name Forum Narrator, Mackenzie Ryan, Forum Panelists, Co-Sponsors, Iowa Newspaper Association and all—

Please forward to all Iowa newspapers, school boards and others who might be interested.

It has  been 6 days since Des  Moines Register school reporter Mackenzie Ryan moderated the no name 4-3-18 Simpson College Forum held on K-12 school issues--and the Register hasn’t reported any results achieved or discussed.   Nothing!!   Dead silence.  It’s as if the Forum didn’t happen.

What is the Register hiding?  Why?

As you know, Iowalive released an Example  Report Card and tables of many pertinent K-12 school issues before the Forum and posted them on websites http://www.iowalive.net/forumreportcardexample.htm , http://www.iowalive.net/k12studentsafetyandmind.htm  and http://www.iowalive.net/k12educationforum.htm  which were viewed, and are still viewed, by many thousands.

Since the Register obviously found nothing from the Forum worth reporting, Iowalive has withheld efforts to further evaluate the Forum and fill the blanks in the Example Report Card with red Fs.  However, the  following observations and conclusions are worthy of serious consideration.

Iowalive’s releases include quality documentation, hard facts and the best numbers available to explain the context.  This bests the Iowa educator practice of avoiding the use of hard facts (such as their devious use of low student proficiency standards) or falsely laying the blame elsewhere instead of performing a quality assessment.  Iowa educators teach to, and give students answers to the tests, and only know memorization, which simply requires memorizing some specific piece of information, with absolutely no understanding of the underlying concepts that form the context (documented with hard facts).  Iowa educators have used shallowly false excuses for decades to avoid accountability for their failed system.  http://www.iowalive.net/iowak-12educationsystem.htm

In fact, the IA Board of Educational Examiners has yet to respond to Iowalive’s  3-22-18 question, “does the Board consider teaching to the test, and giving students answers prior to the test, to be cheating”?

Clearly Iowa’s local K-12 schools need to be confined to the extracurricular activities communities like, and leave the educating to expertly effective, out-of-state, online teachers.  Register’s hiding poor forum results, the Examiner’s refusal to answer Iowalive’s question,  and the references cited below, fully support that conclusion.

REFERENCES

The first two references report the July 2011 ‘Education’ Summit held at Governor Branstad’s behest.   They include Mickelson in the Morning Podcasts that many will find to be refreshingly nostalgic!!.

WHY JUDY HINTZ WAS BANNED FROM THE 'EDUCATION' SUMMIT

Judy would tell how she routinely raises math and reading skills 5 grade levels with
but 27 to 54 one-hour training sessions, with kids the public schools can't teach!
She would also tell how to raise skills 7 grade levels with 27 to 54 one-hour sessions
for other students.   Judy has the proven recipe for doing that and the evil ISEA teacher's
union, and other constructivists wanting more money for schools, don't want to hear it--so
they banned her from speaking at the summit!!
