Who are Democrats really referring to when they say 'middle class'?

In Feb. 09, Iowalive asked Iowa Democrats to define who they were referring to when they said, "middle class".   No Democrat offered a definition.  As a result, Iowalive net workers concluded the Democrats don't want people to know.  Here is why.

When Democrats say "middle class", they are referring to labor unions, including the teacher's union.    Democrats won't define an income level for "middle class" because about 30% of Iowa teachers make an annualized salary over $55,000 per year.  Similarly, 10% make over $65,000 per year.  Top teacher union officials make over $200,000 per year.  Other unions are doing as well.  Since at least 20% of Iowans think people making this much money are rich, Democrats run and hide from claiming unions are "middle class".

Any Democrat claiming to have better numbers, or a better "middle class" definition, is asked to provide them.  Meanwhile, here are median salaries for various Iowa wage earners found on website:  http://www.payscale.com/research/US/State=Iowa/Salary   .    By comparison, the numbers show unions are paid much better than Democrats want people to believe.
