GOOD, BAD & UGLY IOWA GOVERNMENT BUDGETS AND OPERATING EFFICIENCIES--2008

The following tables show the GOOD, BAD and UGLY rankings of Iowa government agencies for 2008, including the Governor's office now operating at a dismal 15% efficiency--which is worse than Vilsack's office.  Since Iowa government spending and budgeting increased in 09 & 10, the operating efficiencies for those years are projected to worsen and become even more UGLY.  Iowa public schools and the Department of Education etc., shown in the UNASSIGNED STANDINGS table below, are where the big bucks are wasted--totaling nearly $2 Billion.   

Operating efficiencies were derived as usual and as explained on website: http://iowalive.net/  No one has challenged the numbers since Governor Vilsack tried it and was turned around by his performance improvement consultants. 

There are but 5 GOOD organizations and 42 BAD or  UGLY organizations shown  in the tables.  As a result, Iowa government performance can be described in but two words--BAD & UGLY.   Political payoffs to the teacher and AFSCME unions are the primary culprits for worsening efficiencies.  Anyone claiming to have better numbers is asked to provide them for evaluation and comparison.  The cost to have competent professionals derive the numbers in the tables is at least $1.1 million.
