INTEGRITY AND OPERATING EFFICIENCIES OF IOWA CASINOS--AND MORE

The following table presents what is likely the first ever ranking of Integrity and Operating Efficiencies of Iowa's casinos--and some other organizations for comparison.
Iowalive has often claimed Iowa's casinos have much higher integrity and operating efficiencies than public institutions, especially Iowa public schools, which have a comparable avg. Integrity Index Level of 105 and avg. Operating Efficiency of only 28%. It is highly questionable if Jason Glass, new Director of the Dept. of Education, or Governor Branstad, will make any significant improvements.
There are many reasons for the high integrities and operating efficiencies of Iowa casinos, which are far better managed than Iowa’s government and public schools—and the Gaming Commission as well. Some of the reasons why are:
1. Highly effective, internal casino security, quality and surveillance systems.
2. Careful screening prior to hiring of casino employees.
3. High honesty and integrity expectations for everyone
4. Consequences for any failure to meet those expectations
5. Effective employee training
6. Development and use of fair and effective performance measurement policies and methods
7. The Gazette and Register would throw an editorial tantrum if any casino employees sexually abused anyone—as public, ISEA member, and school teachers have done—with pay raises and near impunity.
8. The Gazette and Register would also throw an editorial tantrum if a casino caused a child to suffer from an inferior education, as the larger Iowa public schools routinely do—with pay raises and impunity.
It is noted the Meskwaki Casino now has a new General Manager who has improved Operating Efficiency, but the Casino's Integrity has fallen. This is unusual and will be further evaluated.
