HOW IOWA AREA EDUCATION AGENCIES RIP OFF IOWANS 

The following table shows how Iowa Area Education Agencies (AEAs) are ripping off Iowans.  The Northwesterly Iowa AEAs are ranked at the top in integrity and operating efficiency, as usual.  Nothing new there! 

 The AEAs are milking the Special Ed. Weighted Enrollment Cash Cow, as are the pathetic public schools.  The AEAs must have Ph. D. janitors etc.—and they likely contribute as much, or more, to student achievement as anyone else in the AEAs. 

Some pin heads merged  some  AEAs  into the 267 AEA (shown in the graphic farther below) and performance worsened!!!  Is this Heaven?? No, it’s Iowa!!!

 Has anyone reported any honest evidence of any significant improvement in student achievement resulting from any AEA effort--or funding?  Can anyone show us a copy of an AEA improvement plan designed to improve student achievement--anywhere?  We certainly can’t find any.   Perhaps the all knowing, almost believable, editor of the Marion Times knows of some! 

 IOWA AEAs ARE MORE WASTEFUL THAN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS!! 

 GAZETTE GRAPHICS SHOW THE FATTER OF AEA FAT CATS

The following Cedar Rapids Gazette graphics shows the AEA presidents and the location of the AEAs in Iowa.  Lane Plugge has accepted the job at the new Green Hills AEA for $180,000 per year plus benefits, making him one of the fatter three fat cats.  But he claims he didn't leave Iowa City for more money.  Ya sure.  The Iowa City school district is operating at 28% efficiency--below the state average.
