Greetings, Selected Members of IA Legislature Agriculture Committees and all—

IOWALIVE’S 2018 CORN & SOYBEAN 9 DISTRICT YIELD FORECASTS

9 IOWA USDA DISTRICTS

Iowalive’s corn and soybean forecasts for 9 USDA districts in 2018 are presented herein.  Iowalive’s 2017 forecasts for the same 9 Iowa USDA districts are posted on websites http://www.iowalive.net/final2017grainestimates.htm  and  http://www.iowalive.net/iacropyieldforecastsaug122017.htm  for farmer’s and others to consider. Farmers can compare them with their actual amounts.  Farmer’s yield monitors and sales receipts provide actual amounts while USDA’s and Iowalive’s are estimated amounts.

Iowalive prepares the forecasts for farmers to consider as they plan, produce and sell their crops  etc.  Comparisons with USDA forecasts are made to place Iowalive’s forecasts into perspective.   They are not intended as a check on the accuracy of USDA forecasts as USDA does not make comparable long range forecasts.  Iowalive’s overall long range, 4 year, state production forecasts are also unique and are posted on http://www.iowalive.net/longrangeiacornforecast.htm .
